Our wedding reception, Maison d’Etre, will be hosted at 918 Bathurst: Culture, Arts, Media & Education Centre, a former Buddhist temple built in the 1960s. This venue is located in midtown Toronto’s Seaton Village neighbourhood, on the west side of Bathurst St., between Barton Ave. and Follis Ave. That’s a block north of the old Honest Ed’s, for all you local history nerds. The address is:

Now, you’re going to want to sit down when we tell you this next part: The venue does not have a parking lot. Hey, we’ve schlepped to enough of your weddings in the sticks over the years that I think we’ve earned a pass!
The good news is that there are lots of efficient ways to get to the venue.
Street Parking
There’s lots of free parking on Saturday evenings from 6pm to midnight on the streets listed below (west side of Bathurst St.).
These spots are 1-hour free parking before 6pm. However, if you park around 5pm for our 5:30 cocktail hour, your free hour leads into the free evening parking at 6pm — so you’re good to go.
Barton Ave. (immediately south of the venue)
Follis Ave. (immediately north of the venue)
Markham St. (side street behind the venue)
Palmerston Ave. (side street behind the venue)
Euclid Ave. (side street behind the venue)
Manning Ave. (side street behind the venue)
You can also park right on Bathurst St. in front of the venue (between Barton Ave. and Follis Ave.). However, this costs $3.00/hour until 9pm. There are usually lots of spots available.
Please do not park in any of the private parking spots behind 918 Bathurst (Old Crookshank's Lane).
Green P Parking
The closest municipal parking lot is located just north of Bloor St., between Markham St. and Palmerston St. It’s only a six minute walk to the venue from there.
The rate for this lot is $3.00/half hour or $8.00 for the nightly maximum (6pm - 7am). Cocktail hour begins at 5:30pm.
Public Transit
Bathurst Subway Station is located a 4-minute walk from the venue - it’s across the street and a block north from the subway’s main Bathurst entrance. You can also take a bus from the station that goes north towards the venue, if you don’t want to make the 4-minute walk. The subway closes at 1:30 AM.
Hotels
The closest hotel is The Annex, a boutique hotel located at Brunswick Ave. and Bloor St. The venue is located just a 10-minute walk northwest from the hotel. You can learn more and book a room by clicking here. The address is 296 Brunswick Ave., Toronto, Ontario.
Another great option is the Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel Toronto. This hotel is larger and located on Bloor St. between Bedford Ave. and Avenue Rd. The venue is a 10-minute car ride northwest of this hotel. You can learn more and book a room by clicking here. The address is 220 Bloor St. W., Toronto, ON. One of our favourite restaurants and cocktail lounges, Proof Bar, is located in the lobby (fun fact: this is where we dined the night of our proposal).
Additionally, as this wedding reception is in the midtown/downtown core, there are of course lots of great Airbnb options available.
